Ostomates wishing to access free appliances through the Stoma Appliance Scheme must be a financial member of one of the 22 National Associations located throughout Australia. Ostomates make the choice of Association based on their individual needs.
Benefits of being a Queensland Stoma Association member include access to stoma related information, regular Association newsletters, free subscription to "Ostomy Australia" magazine, and advice and support on all non-medical aspects of living with a stoma. New Ostomates joining the Association between:
1 July and 31 December - Full fee $45/*Concessional fee $35
1 January and 31 March - Full fee $30/*Concessional fee $25
1 April and 30 June - Full fee $20/*Concessional fee $15
Existing Ostomates:
Full fee - $45 per year due by 1 July of each financial year
Concessional fee - *$35 per year due by 1 July of each financial year

If sending an order by email, please do not send as a .jpg attachment as it is not compatible with our system. Orders may be for either a one or two month supply and must be submitted in writing on an association order form.
Orders should be submitted by the 20th of the month for availability by the 10th of the following month however the association will accept orders outside of these parameters and, pending eligibility, will supply on a 2 week expected turnaround. Orders for the current month can only be received up to the 20th of the current month after which they will automatically be carried over to the next month. The Association supplies stoma related products in terms of the Stoma Appliance Scheme and will only supply in compliance with the entitlements and in the quantities permitted by the scheme.
Orders may be collected from our offices during business hours or posted if collection is not an option, a postage packaging and handling charge applies to all postal orders and must be paid in advance of the order being dispatched by the Association. The charge is $8 for one standard months supply or $11 for up to two standard months supply (sent as one parcel). These charges apply to normal orders and a surcharge may apply to larger parcels to cover the higher cost of postage if applicable. In extenuating circumstances, a small emergency supply can be sent by the association for a cost of $20.

Brisbane Ostomate Support Visitor Service
New Ostomate Support Visitor Service
Queensland Stoma Association in conjunction with Queensland Colostomy Association and The Australian Association of Stomaltherapy Nurses Inc Queensland Branch provides a New Ostomate Visitor Service within the Greater Brisbane Area. Known as the Brisbane Ostomate Support Visitor Service (BOSVS), it is a volunteer visiting program available to any person who is facing or has a surgery resulting in a stoma.
