Ostomates wishing to access free appliances through the Stoma Appliance Scheme must be a financial member of one of the 22 National Associations located throughout Australia. Ostomates make the choice of Association based on their individual needs.
Benefits of being a Queensland Stoma Association member include access to stoma related information, regular Association newsletters, free subscription to "Ostomy Australia" magazine, and advice and support on all non-medical aspects of living with a stoma. Fees:
New Ostomates joining the Association between:
1 July and 31 December - Full fee $45/*Concessional fee $35
1 January and 31 March - Full fee $30/*Concessional fee $25
1 April and 30 June - Full fee $20/*Concessional fee $15
Existing Ostomates:
Full fee - $45 per year due by 1 July of each financial year
Concessional fee - *$35 per year due by 1 July of each financial year
* A valid pension card or health care card must be presented
